Tenor 5-String Kamaka Nalu

The newest model in Kamaka’s exceptional ukulele line, the Tenor 5-String Kamaka Nalu ukulele, was originally designed for Kamaka Hawaii featured artist, Taimane. The ukulele was initially offered only as a custom order at the factory in Honolulu, but due to high demand and our ongoing efforts to innovate and add exciting new models to our traditional lineup, the Tenor 5-String is now available to all. This fun, new model offers a bold and punchy sound for dynamic musicians who love the instrument’s responsive loud strum, its rich, warm midrange, and the clear driven high end of the Tenor size ukulele. The 5-String is the same body size as the original Tenor with added high and low G notes, providing the best of both worlds for players who like to pick and strum unique tones an octave apart on the G, with even greater sound depth and range. This wonderful new ukulele boasts a nice base note without losing the flexibility to freely play fingerstyle on the single strings. 

The Kamaka Nalu’s name is derived from the asymmetrical headstock that includes three tuners on the left side and two tuners on the right, allowing for a more dramatic hand stop on the first string side and giving the hands more freedom and flexibility.

Every Kamaka ukulele comes with a free Kamaka-branded ukulele case that was designed specifically for the exact ukulele model to match the instrument’s body size and length. The vinyl-wrapped, plywood hard case features a soft velvet lining that is padded around the back of the instrument with a protective, arched top cover that ensures the instrument fits snugly and securely when closed. The custom ukulele case also features a convenient compartment to hold tuners, polishing cloths and other accessories.
